It will be held on Saturday, April 17 from 9:30 AM to 2:00 PM at St. Andrews Lutheran Church at the corner of New Hampshire Ave. and Norwood Rd. More details will be available in the future. Attached are a poster and a flyer that are being used to advertise the Career Fair and which contain most of the key information. Feel free to forward these to anyone you know who might be interested in attending. We could still use more volunteers to help run the fair and related activities. If any of the Waterboyz would be interested in helping, we particularly need help in the afternoon on the 17th. The doors of the fair are open from 10:00-2:00 with help needed from about 8:30-3:30 to include set-up and tear-down time. The ribbon cutting with the County and State dignitaries and the pastors will be from 9:30-10:00. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I've attached a sign-up sheet for volunteers that could be filled out and e-mailed back to me, Dave Shupe @ Free employment workshops-Ongoing: Go to www.immanuels.org for the upcoming schedule and detail of topics. WEIGHT LOSS/BROTHER IN NEED: Guys, Paul received an e-mail from one of our table leaders this week. He is in dire need to lose weight very quickly in order to avoid a stroke or heart attack. Unfortunately, because of his financial situation he cannot afford any special diet plan. He is on disability. I and several other Waterboyz are on a "Life Style Change Program that can help get this weight off quickly and keep it off through a diet and behavior changes. I personally have lost 66Lbs since 1/4/2010. 3- months 60 Lbs. It is a Johns Hopkins approved diet and it works. It is a meal replacement program. I am so impressed with the results I have decided to get involved providing the solution to others. Anyhow the program cost about $300 a month. Men lose on average 25Lbs a month on this plan, women 15-18Lbs. I think we can get our man down to his desired weight in 2-3 months and then it will take another 2-3 months to transition off the plan to other foods. His church as agreed to sponsor 2 , maybe 3 months. I am asking to your pledge to raise an additional $600-$900 for the remaining months. Although I cannot discount the product, but I can get him an extra week for each month we purchase. I will re-invest any proceeds I receive back towards paying for the diet. In other words I will not profit from it. If you are willing to pledge money to help this brother out, please send me a personal e-mail to huntercloss@verizon.net, Attn: Save My Brother, with the amount of your pledge. I can then contact you about collecting a check or give you a PayPal address to fulfill your pledge. If you want more details on the situation please call me directly 301-366-7327. If you want more information on the plan see Get Healthy Program Thank you for your consideration. Eric Closs. They need male volunteers for a camp running from May 14-16 this year at Skycroft in Middletown and they must receive your application (available from www.hospiceoffrederick.org in the Camp Jamie section) no later than Friday, April 16th. All volunteers will be subject to a background check, if you have a female who would like to volunteer they are also welcome but they are always in need of men who are willing. Please contact Dan Petty at aaronrpg@hotmail.com with any questions - there is no cost for those who serve. Couple items of furniture: I have a computer desk and a nice entertainment center that I'd like to make available to someone who could use them. I'd rather give them to someone we know could really use them instead of just dropping them off at a collection center. God Bless, Don Eades. Average water temp is 36 degrees -- But the hearts & smiles of those kids will help keep me warm. I know – you’re probably getting cold just thinking about it! But the cold that I will feel is temporary…the positive impact this will have on the lives of thousands of citizens with intellectual disabilities will last a lifetime. A Note from the Easton table: On a side note, our Easton Waterboyz table is really gelling. The Boyz are on fire and excited about reading and learning God's word. We get a steady 6-7 people each week. We have a rotation of people too, so one of these days we will have a 10-man table! We had our first service work a few weeks ago and it is awesome giving up some time and a couple bucks to help someone in need. I feel so blessed that one year ago this week there were 30-40 men that gave of their time, their talents, their wallets, and their sweat equity for the good of God's Kingdom. And one year later we have a strong table going, with regular participation, and service opportunities. The men of our congregation have grown immensely, in His unity, and a big part of this was the example set for us by Jimmy Shields, Dave Berg, Troy, Lil Jay, and all the other guys. The Waterboyz is an amazing organization, with gifted leadership that motivates us men that need that extra push. I can't wait until Friday mornings, so I can connect with another brother, and learn where God wants me to be today.
