Dear Men of God,

Today I had a conversation with one of the pastors who joined us at the Weinberg in June for our Father's Day Celebration. He told me that as a result of that event he has had two families join his church. They told him that they wanted to be part of a church that would partner with a ministry like the Waterboyz for Jesus in a community of faith sort of way. HOW COOL IS THAT!!!!

Earlier in the week Wayne Parrish called me and asked if I could get him some of the next quarters daily devotional books. He had given one of the devotionals to a friend of his - a real free-spirit - take nothing serious - always kidding around guy last quarter. He told me that this guy's wife had just called him to thank him and to ask for the next quarters book. She told Wayne that her husband had been reading the book every day and frequently commenting on it to her. She had begun to notice a change in his attitude. She doesn't want this to end! WELL DONE!!

Our Manhood MBA (manhood beyond the ADVANCE) begins. This is a new initiative to move deeper in discipleship in areas of felt need for ordinary men who want to increasingly become mighty warriors in the Kingdom. Our challenge to you will be 1+1 - continue to attend your 10MAN Table (non-negotiable) and add 1 class per week in the evening (Thursday evenings mostly) for a limited number of weeks to intentionally become better equipped as men of God. Look for the course offerings within the next day or so - then follow your 10MAN table leaders and join one of these classes. "Study to show yourself approved"

SPECIAL SERVING ADVISERY:

1. Sept 11th - We still need some Waterboyz volunteerz to help with our 'serving the Waterlilyz' from 5:30am-10:00am for their first quarterly breakfast. (we have this stretch divided into some pieces) - contact Cam Overs for details - camovers@comcast.net At last count 70+ women have RSVP'd for this event - EXCITING!

2. Sept 24th - We will be helping a family in Mt Airy that is in crisis. The husband has advanced MS and is bedridden, The son was struck by a car and has significant brain damage, and then their kitchen caught on fire. This MUST not be! Stay tuned for more details but it feels like an EXTREME makeover is in the works.

Loving Life because we are Living Large!

Dear Boyz,

I wanted to take a minute to give you a ministry report for the first six months of 2010. Needless to say July turned into August and we are almost done with August. Plans of mice and men…………………….

In order to really do this justice it felt like I needed to get really honest and transparent about all of it - the successes and the failures. Where we are experiencing a 'fresh wind' and where we missed the mark. At the same time I want to be respectful of your valuable time and make this as concise as possible. So here goes.

The first question I wanted to be able to answer for you was, did the significant gift we received for our 2010 budget empower or enable the ministry? In other words, did having our operating budget covered cause us to sit back and stop our sacrificing with SCRAPS to fund additional ministry initiatives? I'm really happy to report the answer is a resounding NO! Our SCRAPS giving grew from $7,229.63 for the six months of 2009 to $9,285.12 for the first six months of this year. PRAISE GOD! We can serve and bless in an increasingly generous way. We can dream bigger dreams and expand our influence in the Frederick area community in a way we couldn't have without receiving that generous gift. I want to thank each one of you!

In the interest of time here is a list of our successes, failures, and dreams.

Kingdom Successes:

1. The Waterboyz helped mentor the launch of the Waterlilyz for Jesus, our sister ministry. This ministry has experienced tremendous growth and in many ways has begun to mentor us in all sorts of cool ways. (www.waterlilyz.org)

2. Each year we have increased our ministry to those at the margins during the Christmas season. We have found several great partners in Mt Airy Net, Faith Connections, and others to establish relationships with the families that are blessed.

3. Our 'Serving Saturdays' are well attended and a continued blessing to those we serve. In a couple of cases we have established a long-term approach to helping so we aren't just a one and done sort of experience. Building relationships are an increasingly important part of our thinking about these serving projects.

4. This year's version of the 100+ man choir developed a Spirit led partnership with 11 local churches that resulted in them closing their doors and coming to the Weinberg Center on Father's day. Much tangible fruit has already come from this partnership. We are already in the process of planning to link a 'Convoy of Hope' event with next year's edition of the choir to reach an even larger audience for Jesus.

5. We have begun our Prison Transition ministry by putting a leadership team in place that is meeting for a couple of hours every week defining the ministry - policies - procedures - and the like. As a way of trying to sort this out we have already helped 5 men transition out of jail into freedom. Two of these men are a success story so far - jobs; transportation; plugged into a 10MAN table; an active member of a local church; surrounded by 3 or 4 men who are engaged in a mentoring role. One of the five is in and out, up and down, we are fighting for him and his freedom - the jury is still out. The other two are AWOL at this point - NOT good! We have learned a lot and are celebrating the two men who are learning to live their lives as overcomers!

6. We have partnered with 'The Word for You Today' devotionals to provide the first three quarters of 2010 devotionals. The response has been overwhelmingly positive. We made this commitment out of a survey we did at the end of our ADVANCE last year which showed us that many men struggled with spending any time with God at the beginning of their day. This tool has REALLY helped many men as well as being a great advertisement for the ministry.

7. We have placed hundreds of bibles into the Frederick Detention center by building a strong partnership with the Champlain. He loves having us as a resource to turn to, as he is faced with an overwhelming demand for bibles. Like Rick Warren said, "God whispers to us in our pleasure and screams to us in our pain."

8. We have already had a training of 32 men for the Wild at Heart boot camp. Our four member senior leadership team have attended the original boot camp in Colorado to experience the John Eldridge version of the camp as a way of becoming equipped for our upcoming ADVANCE in October. MUCH fruit - reconciled marriages, renewed lives, life purpose defining, decisions to go all in with Jesus have already happened and we are expecting 200 men to receive a life transformational experience the end of October.

9. We are seeing an increase in partnerships with city, county, and state agencies who are seeking us out to help with mentoring, and spiritual direction for lost men they are trying to help. One agency has included us in a grant application as the 'faith based' component to a holistic approach to assistance.

10. We have been welcomed as a full partner into the Evangelical Ministerial Fellowship of Frederick county which is comprised of 30+ churches. Through this partnership the Weinberg experience happened last Father's day and an expanded vision is emerging for 2011. GOOD STUFF!!

11. The Ministry has grown beyond being the 'Paul Foss show' into a much more robust ministry. We have a CORE4 leadership team supported by a 44 Mighty Men leadership group that is increasingly taking ownership and leadership in the Waterboyz ministry. We can go places together we won't go alone!

12. Our table attendance is growing and we are planning for a soft launch of a discipling program called "Manhood MBA" this fall.

13. We are developing a partnership with large anchor churches in Hagerstown and lower Montgomery County. ICOG is a large multi-racial church in Gaithersburg where we will be doing a 100+ Man reunion concert in October. It would be cool if you could attend and experience this with us. Their men's ministry team has visited our tables and they are working together with the CORE4 to develop a partnership plan for the future. I pray that this is the fulfillment of a decade plus long dream of mine.

Ministry Failures

1. Our support of a missionary in Honduras was less than a success. Bad decisions, poor accountability, and infrequent communication lead to a variety of breakdowns. Lessons have been learned - seeds were planted - God will use our weakness and disappointments because He is Sovereign!

2. The Baltimore Block party this year turned into something far different then we envisioned. Some of this was beyond our control in that our partner church lost their roof and this made holding the event impossible. It just didn't feel like this partnership was in alignment without goals and vision. We are trying to figure out what the future holds regarding this event.

3. We haven't launched our mentoring program for our sons and daughters yet. We intended to have this up and running in 2010 but it isn't going to happen until next year.

Kingdom Plans:

1. Prison Transition housing - we done LOTS of preparation work. We have reached a place in our planning where I am ready to lay out the particulars on moving this vision to reality. Pray with me for wisdom!

2. 2011 hold 2 multi-congregational choir events - one in Frederick and the other in Hagerstown as we build clusters of 10MAN tables in each region.

3. Launch our Manhood MBA - a three year curriculum of discipleship

4. I will be leading a weekend ADVANCE in Colorado at Grace Place church (they already have 10 MAN tables meeting there) this September 18-20 along with Pastor Richard Fredericks (Grace Place is a sister church to Damascus Road Community Church). The ministry is pushing out from Jerusalem, Judea, and into Colorado.

5. We are committed to building a mentoring ministry for kids from 8 to 21 years old using the Modern Day Knight programming.

Dear Boyz,
In a few weeks we are going to be offering our few couple of classes for our Manhood MBA program. The idea behind this is answering a felt need for training. Jesus gave us our great assignment - "Go and make disciples!" Depending on where we are in our journey who do we do this? Jesus also says, "Study to show yourselves approved" - that just means be intentional about learning how.

Each of us in our jobs and lives are very intentional about learning the stuff we need to learn to be a success - right? We need to bring that same level of intentionality to our relationship with Jesus, and the walking out of our lives in seizing the opportunity to experience the pleasure of working in the Vineyard.

So here is the challenge - 1+1! First, continue to make the hour at your 10MAN table a priority. Building relationship, earning the right to speak into each other, being reminded who God is, we must remain a constant in our lives! The second (+1) is for a season 8-10 weeks commit one evening a week to taking one of the classes that will be offered (The Truth Project - Crown Financial - Wild at Heart) as a way of choosing to start learning how to experience the pleasure of 'Go and make disciples'. Stay tuned for more details - DON'T LET THIS OPPORTUNITY PASS!

Two quick notes about upcoming Fellowship/Community opportunities for you and your family:

1. September 4th - Clay pigeon Shoot http://waterboyz.org/clay_pigeon.php for details.
2. September 24th-30th - EXTREME Home makeover for a family in Mt Airy (her husband is bedridden with a fatal disease; her son was killed after being struck by a car; then her kitchen caught on fire). House repair; painting; landscaping; yard work - there will be something for everyone! What part of this miracle do you want a piece of?

Dear Boyz,

Tomorrow the Waterboyz for Jesus are committed to supporting the Patty Pollatos fund at the Frederick Fairgrounds from 10AM to 6PM. Each year Debbie Williams and her team pull together an unbelievable amount of community and business support to help raise money for kids with cancer whose family can't afford the treatment. In others words - they are stepping into a life and death as the hands and feet of Jesus - GOOD STUFF!!

Here is the 'ask' - we need A LOT more of you to step up from 12-6pm to help with Kidz Zone (5 volunteers for 2 hour stretches) and Concert security (15 men who are certified for is the minimum). If you can help out during the concert 2:30-5:30pm here is the link to get certified, http://www.firemarshal.state.md.us/crowdmanager/ (takes about 20 minutes). If we don't have 15 men at the concert and the Fire Marshall comes by they will shut the event down. Finally we need someone to roam around and take pictures of the Boyz serving so we can celebrate the ways we were used after it is over. Anyone?

This Kidz Zone duty could easily be done by the whole family - how about building into your family a serving heart by leading them to volunteer tomorrow? Only good can come from this - I promise!

In HIM,
Paul

A special thanks from the Williams family:

Dear Paul,

We were overwhelmed this past Saturday by the Boyz’ loving service to our family! THANK YOU!

For the record, about 35 Boyz (and a few ladies and children) began arriving about 930am. By 1pm, the job was finished. A 26 foot moving truck had been fully loaded by master packers, and we and the neighbors were left to scratch our heads in amazement. Later in the afternoon one neighbor came over to ask, “Who were those guys?” A great conversation followed. Turns out he worked on the police dept. for years with Doug McFee and a few others, all of whom he greatly respects. Guess what? There’s an open door in our neighborhood because the Boyz put muscle to their faith in Jesus.

Last night, over dinner with our granddaughter’s other set of grandparents, the conversation turned to Saturday’s amazing display. Carlos is very intrigued, and I believe will now accept an invitation to a table. If you post this to the Boyz, have those that are led to call me for details of names and numbers to follow-up with him and our neighbor.

Well, it doesn’t stop there. Our renters love Jesus. Reggie, Kim and their children just completed a degree in Theological Studies from VTS in Alexandria. He is anxious to meet the Boyz, and Kim will be a great addition to the Lilyz.

As I say to all of you again, I hear Michael W. Smith’s song, FRIENDS. “Friends are friends forever when the Lord’s the Lord of them…”

We expect to be back from time to time, and please know that our home in Ohio is open to all of you and your families. We would be thrilled to host you for any reason at any time. It’s 450 miles into God’s country (the Midwest U.S.) with some wonderful parks, bed and breakfasts, and a few marriage coaching couples, J.

Love,
Jeff, Jill and family

*I wrote a blog on this at, http://rawreflectionsfromthejourney.blogspot.com/2010/08/moving-and-memories.html. Also, some pics of the Boyz are posted on our Facebook page.

Boyz, (The following was written by Blake Dunlevy - Thanks Brother!)

We are going to be diving into the book of Galatians next week at our tables over the next six weeks. Here is some background information on the book to help us understand who wrote the book, who they were writing to, why it was written, and what the overarching themes are in the book, and why we should care.

First, the book was written by the apostle Paul to the churches in the region of Galatia, which is roughly where we would find modern day Turkey. The book was written sometime between 48-53 AD which would make this one of the earliest (if not THE earliest) written books in the New Testament. Paul is writing this book in the spirit of correction for the churches who have begun to accept a different message than the one they were given by Paul on his first missionary journey.

The churches had apparently taken a legalistic approach to their faith and were requiring the new gentile converts to conform to the laws of Judaism. Paul's correction is strong and his goal is to explain to these churches that they can not believe in the saving power of Christ and still maintain the hard legalistic stance with their new brothers and sisters in the faith. He explains persuasively why you can not have it both ways. You are either saved by your adherence to the law or by the saving work of Christ alone.

It is also important to know that the Jews of Paul's day lived by a set of laws that we could not possibly understand in today's context. We are not talking about "do no steal" laws or "do not murder" laws that most moral people agree with. We are talking about the strict laws that governed every facet of Jewish life, every type of personal interaction, and every dietary and economic decision made, right down to the material your clothing could be made from or the type of feet (cloven hoof) your food could have.

As a result we can not assume that Paul believes ALL laws to be unimportant (as some might read into his words). Paul is simply saying that legalism is a dangerous thing and indicative of a flaw in theology. In one of the most commonly repeated passages of scripture he tells us that laws can not produce fruit, only a genuine life lived through the Spirit can produce fruit that tastes like Jesus. A law can produce compliance but the Spirit can produce a life defining transformation.

It is our hope and desire that over the next six weeks each of us sees again the beauty of the gospel, the pursuing love of a savior, and the sufficiency of our salvation in Christ Alone............................ FREEDOM!!!!!!!!!

In HIM,
Paul

Dear Boyz,

We can go places together that we can't go alone. A man alone during a battle is a man who is running and hiding...... BUT together we are an army - seeking out the enemy - taking ground - building legacy. I want to be THAT man!

A few weeks ago I received the following email - an inspired, brutally honest, transparent email. It was from a great friend who was tired of running and hiding and losing................... Because this man operates his life from a biblical world-view he did a ruthless self-inventory, looked to the wisdom revealed in the scriptures, and then he took a decisive stand.

Is this man you? Could you have written this email? Should you be writing this email? Jesus says that if we find our freedom in Him we are free indeed. I agreed to become one of his counsel of 12. More than that I downloaded the X3Watch software on all three of my home computers and I listed my brother as one of my accountability partners. Why not? A battle avoided is a battle won!

Here is my challenge to you as you read this email - join us. Download the software on all your computers whether you have a problem or not (most of you at least have the temptation from time to time - right?). Let me know when you've done this. Let's get serious about being sober and vigilant together!

It is great to be back from a couple of weeks of vacation. I am ready to be part of expanding the Kingdom of God into a lost and dying world. How about you?

In HIM,
Paul

Hey Guys,

If you are receiving this email, it is because you are among the 12 men that God has placed in my life for whom I have the deepest love and respect for as men who are seeking after the heart of God. I have shared my battle with sexual addiction with each of you at some point and each of you have shown that you are not afraid to speak truth into my life.

As most of you know, I experienced a long period of freedom from sexual addiction beginning in 2001, just before I married my wife. However, over the last 2-3 years, this issue has begun to gain a stronghold in my life again. During the last 12 months, I've experienced more temptation and significant slip-ups than I have in the previous 8-9 years. Many of you have walked the road of repentance with me during those times for which I am deeply grateful. I believe my struggles over the last 2-3 years are largely due to what God has been doing in my life -- called me to lead a small group, to be a lead worshipper on my church's worship team, to teach 4 year old kids about the love of Jesus as a Sunday School teacher, to share Jesus with several of my unbelieving colleagues, etc. Needless to say, the enemy does not like any of this and has barraged me with temptation from every angle. Unfortunately, I have not been sober and vigilant about guarding my heart and thus have fallen prey to the temptation.

Last weekend I purchased a Verizon Droid and suddenly a whole new, unaccountable world was opened up to me. Over the last 3-4 days, I have been barraged with temptation and in several instances gave in and "returned to my vomit." I feel dirty and I feel like I've been unfaithful to my wife -- but most of all I feel ANGRY and more determined than ever to take this battle to the enemy and declare war. If this issue continues to progress unchallenged, I fear it will destroy my marriage and my witness to my wife, children and others. I simply will not allow the enemy to have that victory. If the son has set me free, I am free indeed and I will not be burdened again by a yoke of slavery!

Yesterday, I was thinking about ways to address this issue aggressively. I recalled a concept that one of NFI's Fatherhood Awardees (Bruce Felier) came up with to deal with the very real possibility of his dying...as he has cancer. He developed a "Council of Dads" -- 6 of his closest male friends from various aspects of his life who could be father figures to his young daughters in the event of his death. It occurred to me that a similar concept could be a powerful tool for accountability purposes. But, since Jesus had 12 disciples, I decided to expand from 6 to 12. :)

By now, each of you should have received an email invitation to be my accountability partners on X3 Watch. This is XXX Church's new accountability system for the Droid market. If you did not receive the invitation, please let me know. Of course, you can opt out of being an accountability partner and there will be no hard feelings, but I hope you will accept the invitation. The invitation email explains what this entails. Basically, I'm asking you to stand guard as my watchmen. If I've visited an inappropriate site or tried to, or downloaded applications that are inappropriate, I would hope to hear from one or more of you about it. The great thing is, it's pretty hard to circumvent the system -- if I close my X3 account or delete you as an accountability partner, you will receive an email about it...which would probably be a red flag that all is not well .

Thanks in advance for you love and support!

Blessings,

P.S. If this is an issue for which you would like me to be an accountability partner to you, I highly encourage you to visit XXX Church's website, sign-up, and enter my email address. In most cases the service is free. However, the Droid App required a one time fee of $4.99.

From Dave Berg: Brother Chuck Thomas is dying with cirrhosis of the Liver, in need of a Liver transplant -- 2 weeks ago they put him on the Liver Donor’s List. Two days after he went for more tests and they found cancer. On this past Wednesday, Chuck had additional tests – the cancer is almost 7cm's and has spread through his arteries. Because of this, they have to remove him from the list - Chuck is no longer a candidate for a liver transplant --- Please Pray for Chuck Thomas!

Boyz,

The men at the Easton table recently participated in a service project (see attached photo). Bob Tull relays the following: “Here's a photo record of our service night. It was hot and muggy and oh, those heavy logs, but lots of fun. And we advanced the Kingdom! I know Annette and Bobby appreciated it. Let's do something else soon.” We are the hands and feet of Jesus. Let us continue to shine His light. The 100+ Man choir has sung songs written by Mercy Me and I was recently listening to the lyrics from their new CD and the following spoke to me about this very thing.

Won't you be My voice calling
Won't you be My hands healing
Won't you be My feet walking into a broken world
Won't you be My chain-breaker
Won't you be My peacemaker
Won't you be My hope and joy
Won't you be My Love

Dear Boyz,

Kevin O’Neill forwarded the below from a John Eldredge devotional:

Are You Thirsty?
In the gospel of John, Jesus extends the offer to anyone who realizes that his life just isn't touching his deep desire: "If you are thirsty, come to me! If you believe in me, come and drink! For the Scriptures declare that rivers of living water will flow out from within" (John 7:37-38 NLT). His message wasn't something new, but it confounded the religious leaders of the day. Surely, those scripturally learned Jews must have recalled God's long-standing invitation to them, spoken seven hundred years earlier through the prophet Isaiah,

Come, all you who are thirsty, come to the waters; and you who have no money, come, buy and eat! Come, buy wine and milk without money and without cost. Why spend money on what is not bread, and your labor on what does not satisfy? Listen, listen to me, and eat what is good, and your soul will delight in the richest of fare. (55:1-2)

Somehow, the message had gotten lost by the time Jesus showed up on the scene. The Jews of his day were practicing a very soul-killing spirituality, a lifeless religion of duty and obligation. Desire was out of the question. No wonder they feared Jesus. He came along and started appealing to desire. To the weary, Jesus speaks of rest. To the lost, he speaks of finding your way. Again and again and again, Jesus takes people back to their desires. "Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you" (Matt. 7:7). These are outrageous words, provocative words. Ask, seek, knock-these words invite and arouse desire. What is it that you want? They fall on deaf ears if there is nothing you want, nothing you're looking for, nothing you're hungry enough to bang on a door over.

Let us maintain our passion and desire to bring these drinks of living water for all!

Remember the Advance is coming this Fall!

In HIS Name,
Doug McFee

Josh McDowell tells about an executive “headhunter” who recruits corporate executives for large firms. This headhunter once told McDowell that when he interviews an executive, he likes to disarm him. “I offer him a drink,” said the headhunter, “take off my coat, undo my tie, throw up my feet and talk about baseball, football, family, whatever, until he’s all relaxed. Then, when I think I’ve got him relaxed, I lean over, look him square in the eye and say, ‘What’s your purpose in life?’ It’s amazing how top executives fall apart at that question.”

Then he told about interviewing one fellow recently. He had him all disarmed, had his feet up on his desk, talking about football. Then the headhunter leaned over and said, “What’s your purpose in life, Bob?” And the executive said, without blinking an eye, “To go to heaven and take as many people with me as I can.”

“For the first time in my career,” said the headhunter, “I was speechless.” No wonder. He had encountered someone who was prepared. He was ready. His purpose, “To go to heaven and take as many people with me as I can.” You and I might not express it that way, but do you doubt that this is one man who has extra oil for his lamp? - Gary Nicolosi -

If a child is the first person in a household to become a Christian, there is a 3.5 percent probability everyone else in the household will follow. If the mother is the first to become a Christian, there is a 17 percent probability everyone else in the household will follow.

But if the father is first, there is a 93 percent probability everyone else in the household will follow, according to figures from Focus on the Family. Yet out of the 94 million men in the U.S., 68 million don't attend any church, although 85 percent of those say they did grow up with some sort of church background. - Focus on the Family -

Lost people matter to God, and so they must matter to us. - Keith Wright -

For the Son of Man has come to save that which was lost... Even so it is not the will of your Father in Heaven that one of these little ones should perish. Mat 18:11,14

Now thanks be to God, who always causes us to triumph in Christ, and He revealing through us the odor of the knowledge of Him in every place. For we are to God a sweet savor of Christ, in those being saved, and in those being lost; to the one we are the savor of death to death, and to the other we are the savor of life to life. 2 Co 2:14-16

Dear Boyz,

This week has been one of the most significant weeks the Waterboyz have ever experienced together! Each of us have invited family, friends, and even co-workers to come and join us at the Weinberg on Father's Day. We have fasted (100+) because we cared more about lives being changed forever than about our own discomfort. Young and old, rich and poor, mature and just starting to figure things out, together we trusted what God said in His Word. So today is Friday but Sunday is coming. Whoever comes and whatever happens it will be a day we never forget.... I pray that we will NEVER forget!

During our practice on Tuesday night I reminded you that the attacks would come.............. they have! Many of you have told me about the barrage, the little things and in some cases some really HUGE things. Yesterday Demonte Fowlkes really had a 'crash and burn' day. Someone he cares deeply for hurt him and that triggered some real self-destructive behavior. Pray for him! He is a precious son of the King. The devil desires his soul, so pray for him. There are no doubt others who have fallen for a scheming of the enemy. Don't let the shame, or guilt, or whatever else is tormenting you from getting in front of a holy God, confessing your shortcoming, and find healing and forgiveness, and victory. Making a mistake is no reason to surrender. Press in - press through - show up on Sunday - declare HIS faithfulness - there is room at the cross - this is NOT about you it is about HIM!

The pastors from our partner churches will be there to anoint and pray over each one of you. This will be a chance to find healing, equipping, appointing, releasing, so be sure to be on time - 730am.

If you didn't make it to the practices this year - determine not to miss this singular experience next year. Come and worship with us from the auditorium. Come and hear about the Heart of the Father. Hearing will plant vision of who we can be as father's in our own families. It IS Friday BUT Sunday IS COMING!

See you there!
Paul

The Fishing Day- From Dave Berg: 1st Annual Tommy Phillips Fishing Day was a great day in Honoring one of our Founding Fathers, The day began at Eaton's Fish Hatchery, Chuck Thomas, Dave Berg, Dan Petty and his 2 sons Michael and Alex, and Victor Gonzales were there. I caught a snail, Victor caught a carp, Michael, really wanted to catch a BIG Bass.  Alex was as patient as could be when his line got all tangled up.  It was really cool watching these young boys learn how to fish even thou they knew a lot about it. After 3 hours of No Bites, I called Taysie Phillips and Me an Chuck left an went to Tommy Phillips House.  We sat at her 2 ponds, catching fish like crazy, Bass, Bluegill, Catfish, Crappie - Taysie came down an joined us and we talked, Taysie would like next year and EVERY YEAR for The Tommy Phillips Fishing Day to be held at her place an make it a GIANT ALL DAY COOK-OUT and Picnic for All The Waterboyz and Waterlilyz together. Play Volleyball & eat, Fish, Hamburgers, Hotdogs, maybe a Volleyball Game with Table vs. Table - Water-Balloon Game, and everyone can bring their whole Family out to this event. I have Pictures, just have to wait to get developed. I think everyone had a good time, Great day for some Father & Son Bonding, I'm looking forward to Next Year’s event already !!!!!!!!!

Dear Boyz,

Tomorrow we are holding our 1st Annual Waterboyz Fishing Outing. This is designed to be a family bonding opportunity but at least in a couple of cases it is turning into A LOT more. At least two men are bringing boyz with them who don't have a father in their life. These two men are standing in the gap with these young men and providing them with a great role model. Thank you! (See attached for the details)

As you know we will be singing next Sunday - June 20th - at the Weinberg Center in downtown Frederick. 11 area churches will be closing their doors and coming to join us. Whether you are in the choir or not our 'ask' to you is YOU+3 - make coming to this celebration and asking 3 others to join you a priority. This is an EASY 'ask' - non-threatening place - Father's Day - 100+ Men singing in choir - be bold! God has made it clear that 400 men, women, and children who aren't regular church-goers will be coming - why not have the Kingdom privilege of being the one who asked them?

Here is the BIG 'ask'! I am calling for a fast this coming Wednesday. Who will join me? We will be fasting together so we can draw in close to the throne as we pray for God to have His way on the 20th. Please make praying for this event a daily priority and habit but let's go even deeper together on Wednesday. We NEED your prayers! The community of Frederick NEEDS your prayers! There are some things that will only happen if we fast and pray - together lets pray for a breakthrough. Let's do this thing!

In Him,
Paul

Dear Men of God,

For those 130+ men who were at the dress rehearsal last night - HOW COOL WAS THAT? The Spirit of God was thick in the place.......... I watched the people who would come into the room - it was almost like they had to steady themselves - each of them looked down at their arms because the hair was standing up on end. God IS mustering an army of broken, fragile, fearful, tired, available, redeemed, forgiven, determined, hungry for more.... men. It is an honor to do this journey together with each one of you. Well Done - your heavenly Daddy is SO proud of you!

Monday night at Redeemer Lutheran starting at 6:30pm the will be a steak dinner ($10 if you afford it and free if you can't) followed by worship, vision casting, and a stories told that you will find yourselves in. Remember that place in the Lord of the Rings where Samwise asks Frodo if anyone will tell their story around a campfire some day? The answer is "YES" if you risk something, are part of something bigger than you, and if it follows God's heart into an adventure. The feast is being readied - a dozen or more of the homeless in Frederick heard the invitation and they are coming. What about you? Are you hungry for more?

I want to give a quick shout out to a few of the mighty warriors. First - Dave Griffiths...... thank you for your tireless work on the annual Golf outing held on Thursday. 44 golfers (well 43 if you don't count me.... and you shouldn't) showed up - had a great time - and raised several hundred dollars for a water treatment system in Ethiopia. That wouldn't have happened without your organizing, networking, promoting, and efforts. Thank you! Second - Cam Overs & Doug McFee - you and your team have been so awesome to watch as this version of the 100Man Choir has played out over the last month. Signups, shirt orders, water bottles, overhead, sound setup, Candy gift, lyrics and practice CD's, the list is almost literally endless........... both of you have invested dozens and dozens of hours in 'under the spotlight' ministry and to a man we are thankful. Well done!

This Sunday the 100+ Man Choir will be praising at Redeemer Lutheran in Damascus at 8am and 11am. It would be great to see you there. If you can make it be sure to get your 'worship on' - let yourself go - God called David a man after His own heart and David danced like no one was watching. Let's do a little of that on Sunday. It is Friday BUT Sunday is coming!

In HIM,
Pau
